Standing on the Edge of a Cliff....

I can't really tell what's going on in my life these days. I can just say it is unbelievably amazing. But even then, I feel a bit strange and I find myself asking why do my mood swings range between pissed off and monstrously happy?
And why do I let some stupid people bring me down?
But then I just remember that I shouldn't care, and gaze at them with a huge grin in my eyes.

I'm about to have a huge change in my life, and to me it seems like all good things are happening at once, and I'm just being a bit afraid I won't be able to handle all at once...
I feel like I'm standing at the edge of a very high cliff. When I look behind I can see my life until now, and when I look ahead, there's a wonderful gorge, but everything depends on how I'm going to get there. Will I fly and land safely or will I fall?

Hesh-bo-nit !

I'm so sorry, Ellen, but I must write about it! Hope you will forgive me one day....

Ellen moved to a beautiful new apartment.
But Ellen needed to buy a new TV and DVD player.
So Ellen went shopping.

When Ellen was on her way back home, she was so happy and decided to called me.
Ellen told me she bought a huge LCD and DVD, and it was on sale, so she got a real good special price!
I was asking how much it cost, and it was very very good price and it was Toshiba!
Then I was wondering where the hell did she find an electric store at the mall.
She didn't know the name of the shop, but she had the bill!

So Ellen took the bill out of her Burbery pink purse (i don't know for sure, it could also be her white, green and pink new purse she bought in NY, or her green and white Jansport. but lets assume it was the pink Burbery, OK?), saying "It's called", and starts reading (in Hebrew): "Hesh-bo-nit".
and then she asks me: Do you know it?
It took me few moments to realize what she was just saying, and started LAUGHING OUT SO LOUD!!!

Don't get me wrong, it's not like someone conned her or something, it's just that the word she was reading from that piece of paper was the Hebrew word for invoice (or bill)....

Funny, hey?

By the way, she got the name of the store from the invoice after all, and after we were both laughing about it.

And that's all for today, about how i help the Olim Hadashim (the people that immigrate to Israel), and Klitat Aliya (the immigrants adjustment) in Israel.

(Hope it wasn't that mean, because that wasn't my intention... :-)

Have a Safe Flight!

This morning I joined a friend on a flight in his Ultra-Light plane. I packed some paper vomit-bags in my back-pack, and was ready to go!

We were flying to the south of Israel, to the Negev, just above Ramon Crater, the border with Jordan, the Dead Sea and Masada

I took a camera with me, took some photos, hoping some of them will turn out to be sharp and clear, because I took some of the photos through the window, and it was a bit windy, and when you fly in such a plane,
with the window above us is open, the plane shakes and jumps a lot.

But I just love the adrenaline!

I wanted to show you some of the amazing photos I took, maybe you can feel the adventure through it:
(all rights reserved to me!!!)
Flying in a gorge in Ramon Crater, the greatest crater in the world .
We were flying above those amazing shaped stones (or shaped cliffs). Not safe at all if we are forced landing, for instance... But the view made us forget everything else!
The water in the background is the Dead Sea.
And of course- Masada, the perfect view from south and south-west.

Next time we'll fly to the north.
But it will probably be in few weeks time.

The Sociology of the Israeli Dubliners

Just like every other place on the Globe, Dublin has its Israelis. And we all know that Israelis that live in the same place know each other.

So here's the story about how Dan got himself familiarised with the Israeli Dubliners:
Before Dan moved to Ireland, He knew a guy that his wife started working for Dublin Amdocs offices. The wife have been to Dublin for a month already when Dan first met him. He was supposed to move there soon.
As you all know, It's been 4 months since Dan relocated to Dublin, and he's in touch with that couple since.

On Easter Monday, the day after we were back from our Easter holiday (Ellen, here's what you, and probably many other fans, are waiting for: The debt from my previous post), they invited us to join them to Dublin's Botanic Gardens. We decided to join, although we had the cunning plan of staying home and getting lazy.
We got our first impression when we were walking into the Cafeteria. It felt like walking into a Geriatric Institute, thanks to all of the old people (some on wheelchairs) accompanied by their sons, daughters and grandchildren.
But we really enjoyed the gardens. By us, I mean Us the girls. The guys were just enjoying talking business, the stock market, politics and Irish girls of course. To be precise, the conversation over the Irish girls was about the outrageous training suits they just love to wear. In fact, all 4 of us took part in that conversation over that high-importance issue. Every suit is in one color only, but it comes in many different colors, in a variety of fabrics, and they really like the velvet-like fabric!!! Most of the time it shows their bellies, and sometimes it's a huge belly and in some other times it's just a big belly. And that, i must say, is the real Irish culture shock. I apologize for not taking a picture of a girl in her brown or orange velvet-suit, to demonstrate you.
After the gardens, we went to a retail center, and then we went to eat in an Indian restaurant. Since the amazing Diwali was closed for the afternoon, we had to settle for not such a good restaurant, in the Temple Bar area (and that says it all...)
After eating and talking some more about the Israeli and Irish economy, work, stock-market, and this time we all took part, we went home. That day outside lasted 8 hours!

The following week they invited us and another Israeli couple for dinner at their place. That evening we were revealed to some important facts about the Israeli Dubliners.
There are 2 major groups: The Amdocses and the Intels.
The Amdocses are very connected and stay in touch, even organizing events, such as the Israeli independence day they celebrated with BBQ in the park.
The Intels, however, are mostly married to Irish, so they stay among themselves, and don't like to join those get-togethers, or stay in touch with those who doesn't belong to their group.
The rest are somewhat like Dan, who is an only Israeli in their company. That was the situation with the other couple that was invited that evening. Those Israelis are usually familiarize with the others through someone they know (or knew) from Amdocs.

Now I just want to apologize for not writing, again, for such a long time... I feel like I have so many things on my mind when I'm not in a relaxing vacation, and I'm not even in the mood to write and practice my writing.
I promise, again, to try and get over it!
We'll see how it works.
